  Kennington Park Road

The Kennington route begins at Oval tube station (Northern line) and finishes at Waterloo. The Walworth route is circular from Elephant & Castle.
Travelcard zones 1 & 2

Charlie Chaplin was born in Walworth in 1889. His parents were both on the stage but separated soon after his birth. His mother lost her singing voice and lacking financial support from an alcoholic father Charlie spent his childhood in poverty in Kennington and Walworth.
In the early 1900s, with his mother confined to an asylum, he was taken on by Fred Karno and in 1910 went to America.

Plenty of places for refreshments on the Kennington route. Best places on the Walworth route are Elephant & Castle and Walworth Road.

The Kennington route is 2 miles and the Walworth route is 2¾ miles. All pavement & path walking. These two routes look at places associated with Chaplin and mentioned in his autobiography. Not all the buildings still exist. [Kennington Route] [Walworth Route]
