The walk is circular from Bromley-by-Bow tube station (District & Hammersmith lines). West Ham, Pudding Mill Lane and Hackney Wick Stations are near the route.

The area around the River Lea was once a thriving industrial area and hub of waterbourne freight traffic. After years of neglect and decay the Lower Lea Project has, with regeneration funding, worked to improve the environment for all. However this area will undergo major changes as the main site of the 2012 Olympics.

This walk is 4½ miles mostly path walking The walk follows waterways including Abbey Creek, City Mill River and the Lea Navigation and includes part of the Greenway on the Northern Outfall Sewer. The industrial landscape combines with rich wildlife areas. [Route & what to see]
