Bexley, a pre-Domesday village, developed where two roads crossed the River Cray. It retains a number of buildings of interest dating from that time onward. Hall Place is an attractive part Tudor, Grade I listed building (parts of which are open to the public) with beautiful gardens.


Hall Place is convenient for refreshments halfway (pub/cafe/picnic) or there are facilities in Old Bexley


This walk is 5 miles. Riverwalk sections can become muddy. There is a stile into Churchfield Wood. This walk takes in parts of the Cray & Shuttle Riverways, Old Bexley and Hall Place & Gardens [Route & what to see]
