The Local Studies collection consists of historic books, maps dating back to 1635, pamphlets, photographs and drawing that unlock the history of Richmond. For family history there is access to census returns, electoral registers, street directories and copies of parish registers. Newsletters and annual reports of local societies and organistaions are available plus a number of theatre playbills.

Short look-ups (20 mins) are offered or there is a chargeable service. Group visits can be arranged and there is a copying service. There is currently no disabled access but items can be made available by arrangement.
