To complement the exhibitions there are computer terminals with additional information. The museum produces a number of publications (on sale in its shop) and organises a programme of talks and events including study days. There is a Friends organisation.

The galleries of modern London (1666 - the present) are currently being refurbished and are due to re-open in the Spring.
