The building with shop, cafes, displays and exhibitions is open free to the general public. Researchers needing access to the collection need to apply for a readers ticket. These are issued by interview with applicants. Some of the collection is being made available on-line [click here].

Guided tours of the public areas take place Mon, Wed & Fri at 3pm and Sat at 10:30 & 3pm.Tours which include a Reading Room are offered on Sun & Bank Hols at 11:30 & 3pm. There is a charge for these. Free viewing gallery tours take place on Mon, Wed and Fri at 11am. Booking is essential for all tours.
